“Style is very personal. It has nothing to do with fashion. Fashion is over quickly. Style is
forever.” — Ralph Lauren
As I find myself in the midst of my second becoming — a time of reclaiming, reimagining,
and re-rooting — I’ve started to ask: What is my soul style now?
For decades, fashion was not just a passion — it was my profession. I’ve lived and breathed it from every angle: designing, merchandising, exporting, buying, and retailing across global markets. The world of fashion taught me so much — from texture and styling to the power of presentation.
But in recent years, I’ve felt a quiet shift. The allure of the runway is still there, but what draws me now is something softer, more rooted — a style that feels lived in, not just looked at. A
kind of wardrobe that reflects my inner world, not just trends.
I’m increasingly drawn to:
• Flowy fabrics that let the body breathe
• Earthy, muted tones with the occasional burst of saffron or marigold
• Handcrafted jewellery that tells a story
• Pieces that are classic, versatile, slow-made, and seasonless
• Comfort without compromising elegance
call it Soul Style — a way of dressing that honours where I’ve been, who I am now, and the
woman I’m still becoming.
